I was supporting my friends at the Light Cavalry HAC Stables as their official photographer. As they took part in the Sheriffs’ City Ride, by escorting the Alderman and Sheriff around the City of London in aid of the Sheriffs’ & Recorder’s Fund charity https://sr-fund.org starting at The Old Bailey.
Walking along with the ride, running backwards and forwards ahead of to the front and back of the ride to get the photos. I couldn’t use my normal zoom lens that I would use, as I was too close to the ride. So I bought an alternative lens that I wouldn’t normally use. I’m hoping the results are okay x. so from that point of view it was very challenging. Very surreal too being part of a party as the police to the front and back of the ride stopped the traffic so the horses and riders were safe. The Sheriffs’ and Lord Mayor of the City of London were lovely. And it was great fun seeing the Guild’s of the City of London in these fantastic sometimes old buildings, hidden away in the City of London. But most of all hanging out with the Light Cavalry HAC and the supportive riders, that I have come to have deep affection for, and love supporting them in my own little way.
